Confusingly used as a web-marketing term, cross-channel shopping (or the practice of shopping with a retailer by offline and traditional methods) has a more literal meaning for us. Shopping across the channel means visiting one of our three French stores to take advantage of the low tax on drinks in France.
However large the savings, and they can be very worthwhile for large parties or weddings, the disastrous fire at Eurotunnel last autumn meant simply getting to Calais in a timely and convenient way was less than easy. Thankfully, Eurotunnel is now back up and running, and traffic will resume as normal. This is a rare piece of economic good news in these straightened times.
