Grape Guru: Hye-Young

It’s amazing how many people are on twitter and social media talking about wine, so this week I’ve asked a few our fans and wine bloggers for a mini bio about themselves and some tasting notes of our #makeautumnred mixed case.

Grape Gurus: Majestic social media fans and wine bloggers

About Hye-Young
Nickname: I don’t really have a nickname, but I use @foreverkimchi as my Twitter ID.
Favourite Wine: Champagne, of course. Bordeaux & Rhone wines.
Wine memories: Having first met Rob (my husband to be) over a glass (bottle or two!) of wine, we found that although we both enjoy wine, in no way are we experts. Rather, we are enthusiasts…!

Make Autumn Red Mixed Case
Wine: Catena Malbec
Region: Mendoza
Country: Argentina
Vintage: 2010

Appearance
Colour: Deep, rich dark purple, lovely

Nose
Intensity: Starts off slightly acidic and ends on a round, ready to entice.
Aromas: Slightly aromatic with hint of berries

Taste
Body: Medium with easy to drink flavour
Tastes like: Blackberry
Length: Good length – it seems to last for a while after each mouthful.
Moreishness: very moreish, WITH FOOD

Conclusion
Perfect food match? We tried it with some snacks and it really went well with Ardennes pate. It would go very well with lamb dishes I reckon.
Film you’d drink this wine with? We watched Back to the Future, but probably Casablanca would have been better.

Rating out of 10: 6.5
