2005: a year to rememberBy Nick Dagley, Bordeaux Buyer

With Bordeaux‘s marginal, temperamental climate, vintage is of the utmost importance when choosing a wine from this celebrated region. And you can’t get much better than 2005 – a vintage widely regarded as one of the finest in the last twenty years.

It was an almost perfect growing season, producing wines of great depth and concentration across all appellations. As a result, the top wines were expensive upon release with prices continuing to climb, but there is still serious value to be found with second wines and lesser known properties.
