We’re really excited to announce that we’ve chosen Prostate Cancer UK as Charity of the Year 2015, following a staff vote in November last year.
The aim of the partnership is to raise funds in order to help the charity provide vital support and information to men and their families, and find answers by funding research into causes and treatments.
One man dies every hour of prostate cancer in the UK, and 1 in 8 men will develop the disease. It is currently the most common cancer in men in the UK, but is predicted to become the most common cancer overall in the UK by 2030.
“I’m delighted to announce that Majestic staff have chosen Prostate Cancer UK as our Charity of the Year for 2015. With collection tins in stores and staff fundraising activities, we’re looking to continue to build on last year’s fantastic work for charity.”
Steve Lewis, Chief Executive, Majestic Wine
“It’s fantastic to be embarking on this new partnership with Majestic Wine. The fact that their employees voted for us shows how much men’s health, and prostate cancer in particular, is an issue that just can’t be ignored any more. Their support will help Prostate Cancer UK reach its goals, by joining Men United and building a movement of men fighting against the disease. We thank all of the staff who voted for us and look forward to working together over the next year.”
Owen Sharp, Chief Executive, Prostate Cancer UK
