Scottish Venison with
Crozes Hermitage 2010 Domaine Les Hauts De Mercurol
Syrah from the northern Rhône is a brilliant accompaniment for venison. The smoky, meaty and peppery notes go perfectly with its rich flavours and match very nicely with the celeriac, turnip and beetroot gratin. The wine is deep red in colour, with a freshness on the nose that lifts the expressive syrah fruit of black and red cherries, bramble and redcurrants.
