Don José Abascal was ennobled Marqués de la Concordia in 1812, in recognition of his work uniting the new Creole world and old Europe. Named after him, Marqués de la Concordia Family of Wines was founded in 1999. The aim was to bring together the best of two worlds, new world style winemaking and old world terroir.
Made from 100% old vine Tempranillo grapes, grown at 650 metres above sea level in the Rioja Alta region, these wines represent a more modern style of Rioja.
Marqués de la Concordia Crianza is aged for 18 months in new French and American oak and a further 6 months in bottle before release, leading to a wine that has forward fruit underpinned by the classic qualities of traditional Rioja.
Marqués de la Concordia Reserva is aged for 24 months in new French and American oak and one further year in bottle leading to an intense, velvety, rich Rioja with a long and elegant finish.
Celebrate with the Marqués this festive season! We have an amazing 33% off all Rioja until Monday 1st December. Answer the below question and go into the draw to win a meal for you and three friends at leading Spanish Tapas restaurant, Zoritas Kitchen. (This competition is now closed)
