Dave Clouston: My Secret Blenheim

We caught up with winemaker for Black Cottage Dave Clouston to share his favourite places in Blenheim. Our first ‘my secret city’ of the southern hemisphere…

Lunch on the terrace at Hans Herzog winery and restaurant. Incredible views and amazing cuisine, a great place to relax with friends amongst the vines.

Scotch Wine Bar. A great range of local and imported wines by the glass and a great selection of New Zealand craft beers on tap, always busy on a Friday late afternoon when the local winemakers are most thirsty!

Black Cottage. Located in the middle of the vineyard and olive grove with no sight or sound of traffic you are always guaranteed a good nights sleep!

Wino’s Liquor. A locally owned wine shop with a huge selection of local and imported wines, craft beers and french cheeses, very dangerous!

The Marlborough sounds. A breathtakingly beautiful sound full of small coves, bays and beaches to discover by boat of foot.

  1. Agree, a great place. Went to the Marlborough Wine festival a couple of years ago and had a great time sampling the local food and wine!
