Deliveroo and Majestic Wine announce major expansion of delivery partnership

  • Deliveroo announces 50 new Majestic Wine sites on the Deliveroo app, bringing the total to 80 sites across the UK
  • The Majestic range on Deliveroo has been extended to include more than 50 wines, champagnes and spirits, particularly helpful for customers at home due to COVID-19
  • The expansion means even more Deliveroo customers will be able to enjoy their favourite choices from Majestic Wine, delivered in as little as under 30 minutes and priced the same as in Majestic Wine stores
  • Customer favourites include New Zealand Sauvignon, Provence rosé and Majestic’s Definition Gin

Deliveroo and Majestic Wine have today announced the major expansion of their delivery partnership to cover 80 UK sites across the UK, alongside an expanded range on offer.

The companies have unveiled a specially curated range of more than 50 wines, champagnes and spirits, available to order on the Deliveroo app in as little as under 30 minutes. The range is available from 80 different Majestic locations across the UK, including Nottingham, Reading, Bristol, Birmingham, Cardiff, Glasgow and six new sites across London.

In an effort to ensure that customers can access their favourite items from Majestic at affordable prices while more people are at home during the COVID-19 pandemic, items are priced the same as in Majestic stores. This is a significant move to make sure isolated people have access to everything they need and want on the Deliveroo app.

In response to customer demand, the newly developed wine list will focus on pairing key food styles to wine matches, with Rosé and Portuguese reds predicted to be the home-delivery drinks of choice for Deliveroo customers. This partnership follows the news that wine is now the number one drink of choice for Brits, narrowly beating beer and spirits in a large survey in August 2019 [Yougov].

Current best-sellers for Majestic’s Deliveroo customers during lockdown include the LB7 Portuguese Red from Lisbon, as well Miraval Rosé – the wine famous for being owned by Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.

Ajay Lakhwani, Vice President of New Business, Deliveroo said: “We are delighted to announce this major expansion with Majestic Wine, the UK’s leading specialist in wine, and play our role in making sure households have access to everything they need and want during COVID-19. The roll-out of Majestic Wine on Deliveroo across 80 sites in the UK is great news for our customers across the country, who can now enjoy an even wider choice of delicious wine, delivered in as little as under 30 minutes.”

Robert Cooke, Majestic’s Chief Commercial Officer, said: “Wine is something which continues to provide joy and discovery within your own walls, even in the face of COVID-19. We are always looking for new ways to help our customers keep making those discoveries whilst in lockdown and beyond, as safely and interactively as possible. With Majestic’s unbeatable expertise and range, alongside the fantastic service Deliveroo offer, winelovers from Exeter to Glasgow can get brilliant bottles direct to their homes – in as little as under 30 minutes. Wine has never been so popular in the UK, we’re now officially a nation of oenophiles, and working together with Deliveroo we want to make that perfect glass as accessible as possible”

The range also includes: Whispering Angel Rose, Bread & Butter Chardonnay California, Rioja Reserva Marques de Riscal, Tattinger Bru Reserve NV Champagne, Laurent Perrier La Cuvée Champagne and Plantation Rum Barbados, and many others.
