The International Wine Challenge, the world’s most influential, impartial and rigorously judged wine
competition, brought the UK wine industry together at a live awards evening on Wednesday 30th
June to celebrate the winners of this year’s competition. Majestic Wine scooped both the National Merchant of the Year and Consumer Campaign of the Year at the 2021
The double win marks marks Majestic first major triumph at the awards for three years, including the first time their marketing had been called out for an award.
As a first time winner of the National Merchant award, the judges recognised Majestic for their “extremely busy year implementing all-round improvements across service, training and their drinks range. The changes, along with a new website, reflect the passion of the business and investment in its future success.”
The Consumer Campaign prize was awarded for Majestic’s ‘The List for Spring’; a marketing campaign which ran across digital, stores, direct mail and included the retailer’s first ever ‘virtual catalogue’. This featured supplier and colleague videos and the ability to shop directly via a clickable brochure.
Speaking at the awards ceremony held at the Kia Oval Cricket Ground, Majestic CEO John Colley said :
