Kim’s Introduction

Well, it hardly seems possible, but it’s that time of year again. The days are getting colder, the nights are getting longer and if you listen closely, you can hear the distant but distinctly Christmassy sound of sleigh bells in the air!

Here at Majestic, we’ve more than ever to celebrate this year, as the proud winner of two of the UK wine industry’s most prestigious awards. 2011 has seen us named IWC High Street Chain of the Year and Decanter Readers’ Best National Wine Merchant. Neither would have been possible without the continued loyal support of our customers. So we’re looking forward to raising a festive glass to all of you in thanks.

But before the yuletide fun to come, there’s plenty of planning to be done. As ever, we’re here to help. In our special seasonal section, you’ll find tips and hints on all kinds of ways to get the best out of your winter wines – from gift ideas to the perfect partners for Christmas dinner. Better still, you don’t even have to just take our word for it. Those who like to try before they buy will find our latest in-store tasting calendar right here too.

I hope your new issue of Grape to Glass does its bit to spread a little extra knowledge and help in the weeks to come. And from all of us at Majestic, here’s to a magical Christmas and a cracking New Year.
