Saturday Kitchen Recommends: Domaine Sainte Rose ‘Le Marin Blanc’

BBC Saturday Kitchen‘s Olly Smith has recommended one of our wines this morning to accompany Anthony Demetre’s delicious looking Cod Cheeks, Chorizo and Chick Peas!

Domaine Sainte Rose ‘Le Marin Blanc’ 2009 is a blend of Marsanne and Roussanne grapes from the IGP Côtes de Thongue.

The ‘Marin’ is a southern wind that blows into the Languedoc from the Meditterranean, often bringing rain. This wine is named after the more desirable ‘Marin Blanc’: the same southerly wind but without the rain, which offers far better conditions for this blend’s winter Rhône grape varieties.

From a property situated in Southern France and owned by British couple Charles and Ruth Simpson, Domaine Sainte Rose is one of Majestic’s favourite Languedoc producers, so much so that we’ve recently increased our range to now stock five of their fantastic wines.
