Vote Now for your favourite Majestic Party Wine!

For those who have been following our Golden Grape Awards, you will be familiar with our staff voting for their favourite wines to drink at a variety of occasions. This time round, we asked them to select their favourite Party Wine from the entire Majestic selection…. Nominations began in earnest and we now have a shortlist of 6.

We’ve now put this shortlist to the definitive vote, but meanwhile, we thought it would be interesting to see what you thought!

The Shortlist

Château Guiot, Costières de Nîmes

Vinified from a blend of Grenache and Syrah grapes this beautifully scented wine offers spicy rich berry flavours. This is fantastic value for money with its herby aromas and lashings of forest fruits. Find out more in Graham’s video….

Fairhall Cliffs Single Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc, Marlborough

From a vineyard owned by John Marris, the esteemed viticulturalist of Wither Hills fame, this is excellent value, textbook New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. Full of zesty, citrus-led flavours nuanced with notes of nettles, this wine is a massive hit with seafood.

Argento Malbec, Mendoza

An excellent Malbec made from grapes grown in the foothills of the Andes, one of the most favoured areas for cultivating grapes in Argentina. Ripe bramble and spicy blackberry notes on the nose are echoed on the richly textured palate, with hints of vanilla oak and balanced acidity on the finish

Goldwater Sauvignon Blanc, Marlborough

A fantastic New Zealand Sauvignon from the superlative Marlborough region. It offers masses of elderberry fruit and raspberry leaf aromas and exhibits an excellent minerally finish along the lines of Sancerre.

Château Mont Milan, Corbières

This wine won a Gold Medal at the 2009 Decanter World Wine Awards, and with its intense nose of cooked and dried fruit, dates and vanilla it is easy to see what seduced the judges. Full and rounded on the palate it is a wine with remarkable finesse for its very modest price tag.

Rueda Blanco, Marqués de Riscal

A light, delicate white wine with an intensely aromatic bouquet (courtesy of the Verdejo grape variety) and bursting with fruit. The acidity is well-balanced to give a crisp finish.

Vote for your favourite party wine from the Majestic Staff Shortlist – we’ll be announcing both results in a couple of weeks…
