Why was Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label inspired by an egg?

Madame Clicquot was eating an egg for breakfast – the deep yellow of the yolk against the stark egg white inspired her. How to make Champagne into something as strong and vivid as the bright yellow yolk, opposed to the plain fleshy egg white… the yellow yolk coloured label was born and is now synonymous with the Veuve Clicquot brand.

The pink colour of the Veuve Clicquot Rosé NV label also has a raison d’être. During a lengthy decision process to select the right shade of pink for the label, Cyril was visiting Kyoto, Japan. The spring air and the pink cherry blossom – click! Cherry blossom pink. The international launch of the NV rosé was held in Japan as a memento to that spring time pink epiphany.

Here are a few snaps from last night at the Majestic and Veuve Clicquot Champagne tasting hosted by Cyril Brun, Veuve Clicquot Winemaker.
