Spolverino means ‘feather duster’ in Italian, and is a tongue-in-cheek reference to the Black Rooster; the emblem of Chianti Classico. Had the wine been bottled with a cork rather than a screwcap, the producers could have applied to have the wine classified as a Chianti Classico, hence the light hearted dig on the label.
